Acne doesn’t stop at your face.
In fact, the same toxins and irritants that aggravate acne on your face can trigger acne anywhere on your body. Terrible, right!?
The good news is treating acne on your body is pretty similar to treating breakouts on your face, so you don’t need to add much to your routine. In fact, there are really just two main components to treating body acne: cleansing and moisturizing.
Cleansing: Clear skin anywhere with clean skin everywhere. Irritants cause clogged pores, which leads to breakouts. A deep cleanse every morning and night is essential for every skincare routine. But beware: Not all body cleanses are created equal. Body acne requires gentle, effective cleansing ingredients to not do more harm than good. You’ll have to switch to a body wash that treats body acne specifically as your new full-body wash.
Moisturizing: Dry skin is acne’s best friend. When the skin’s protective barrier isn’t healthy and balanced, your existing acne doesn’t heal and you’re more prone to new flare ups. After washing, apply a light body oil that hydrates the skin without clogging pores. This will keep the body radiant and glowing throughout the day while treating breakouts and preventing new ones.
Remember, consistency is always key when it comes to clearing acne. Treating body acne doesn’t take much, but like treating facial acne, there are no days off!
